Job Summary:

Provide technical capability and support for the Project Controls function of estimating as required to meet project scope and job requirements by performing the following duties and responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under general direction, responsible for performing highly complex estimating activities for a project or assignment.
  • Perform quantity survey of project materials and services from equipment list, P&ID's and scaled plot plan.
  • Read and interpret project scope for completeness.
  • Resolve scope discrepancies in a professional manner.
  • Evaluates vendor quotes, makes adjustment for completeness
  • Assign appropriate unit material cost and unit labor cost to project quantities reflecting current market conditions and project specific attributes.
  • Assign appropriate indirect cost for both field and non-field activities.
  • Performs cost risk analysis and provides appropriate contingency for TIC estimates.
  • Publish estimates in a format that accurately and concisely communicates the project scope.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures and perform assigned duties in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for the safety of self and coworkers.  Ensures they comply with established safety policies. procedures and practice safe work habits.


  • 10+ years' experience in petrochemical industry
  • 5+ years' estimating experience within petrochemical industry
  • Strong MS Office with emphasis on MS Excel
  • Aspen Capital Cost Estimator experience or equivalent
