Job Responsibilities:

  • Work as MOC (Management of Change) specialist for Engineering Services Department in Valero’s Port Arthur, Texas refinery.
  • Responsible for keeping any drawings related to the piping discipline at the refinery current and up-to-date.  As the only person doing this for a 4,000 acre facility, efficiency and leveraging technology to achieve this is essential
  • Job duties include drawing Process and Instrument Diagrams for various units, drawing plot plans, drawing maps, drawing PFDs and SFDs, web page creation/editing/maintenance, Access database programming, scanning and attributing Adobe PDF files, writing and modifying a variety of scripts and LISP routines, reviewing and modifying refinery Standard Drawings, software and hardware support, training of new and existing users in Valero CAD standards.
  • Work closely every day with “intelligent” PID system.  These drawings contain objects that have attributed information embedded in them.  Responsible for pushing/pulling this information to and from CAD drawings using an Access Database interface.
  • Design, develop, maintain and modify a variety of databases, with multiple users for each.
  • Responsible for keeping AutoCAD products running correctly and efficiently within the Engineering Services Department, and also responsible for frequent installation or modification of AutoCAD products plant-wide.
  • Organize and run learning sessions for various engineering firms, to teach Valero CAD standards and methodology
  • Created curriculum to teach a Basics AutoCAD class at Valero-Port Arthur Refinery.  Must handle multiple projects simultaneously, assigning priorities and working with tight scheduling constraints.
  • Responsible for being familiar with industry standards for the oil and gas industry, particularly piping standards.  Responsible for helping to facilitate hardware and software upgrades in Engineering Services group.

Job Qualifications:

  • 5 years CADWORX experience a must
  • AUTOCAD exp preferred
