Job Summary:

  • Project Manager - The Project Manager manages a wide variety of projects (typically $5MM to $50MM TIC) for Refining and Chemicals Industry Clients.  Primarily responsible for projects in the Baton Rouge / SE Louisiana Area.  Day travel may be required. 

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • The Project Manager has the primary responsibility for execution of Capital and Expense Projects from front end development (Assess, Select & Define phases) to detailed design and construction (Execute phase) including procurement, cost control and schedule management.
  • Accountable for delivering projects safely.
  • Ability to manage several project simultaneously with competing priorities in various execution phases on a wide variety of manufacturing processes.
  • Develops project scopes in collaboration with Client Operations, Process Engineering and Discipline Representatives.
  • Develops Project Execution Plan
  • Accountable for ensuring the proper technical authority approves the design including the appropriate technical authority of equipment specification and drawings.
  • Oversees engineering execution.
  • Works with Project Controls department to develop project cost estimates and schedules for each phase and for final project funding.
  • Accountable for meeting project cost and schedule requirements and providing accurate forecasting.
  • Ensures that the Project Execution Plan is followed during the life of the project
  • Responsible for effective scope control and change management.
  • Able to act as proposal manager on small to medium sized projects.
  • Able to prepare and administer business plan including risk mitigation

Job Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in downstream petrochemical or refining industries. 
  • PMP is a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied engineering and design disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between various disciplines required.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering technology, codes, standards, etc.
