CDI Engineering Solutions is seeking a Chemical Engineer  to work at our Team Site in Beaumont, TX.  Duration of assignment: 3-6 months.  

JOB SUMMARY: Chemical Engineer with 5 + years of production experience  for an assignment as a process / production engineer. 

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities: 

  • Prepare detailed front-end designs; Assist in developing conceptual strategies, processing schemes, feasibility studies, PFD's, mass and energy balances, and detailed scopes of work.
  • Generate process models using simulation tools.
  • Generate project overview presentations for senior management, detailed process design, including P&ID markups, equipment process data sheets, process piping design, and ancillary equipment.
  • Participate in hazard analyses, conducts safety and environmental evaluations of projects, and prepares information for permitting.
  • Follow instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Provide process engineering support on as needed basis, conducts plant troubleshooting assignments; leads project task forces for solving difficult plant process problems.
  • Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company

Job Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Chemical Engineer.
  • 5+ years of hands-on plant production / engineering experience related to the chemical process and production of a facility. 
  • Experience working in a plant process/production department.
  • Proficiency with process design tools such as ASPENPLUS, Sinet and other simulation tools. SAP a plus. 
  • Ability to do heat and material balances.
  • Proficient in technical report writing.
  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
  • Must be analytical and be willing to exert whatever effort is required to accomplish objectives. Must be thorough, goal oriented and quickly adaptable to new situations. Should be ever mindful of profits.
  • Process Design Engineer must have sufficient engineering experience and knowledge to command the respect of group members, plant personnel and plant management.
  • Must have prior experience in front-end process design functions.
  • Experience in Continuous processes required.
  • Multi-tasking: Flexibility to handle more than one important task or assignment simultaneously.
  • Must have a TWIC card or able to obtain.
